
George Zimmerman Sr.
was born Oct. 7, 1810 near Zweibruecken, Rhein Kreis, Germany. He
died Friday morning, Apr. 28, 1905, at the family home several miles
north of Perry, Pike County, Illinois, aged 94 years, 6 months,
and 21 days. He came to America in 1833 where in 1836 he married
Anna Maria Lutz
was born Mar. 9, 1817 in Ornbach, Hessen Kassel, Germany, and came
to America in 1835. She died Saturday evening, Dec. 19, 1903, also at
the family home north of Perry, Illinois, aged 86 years, 9 months,
and 10 days.
At the time of their deaths they were staying with their youngest
son William and his family who were then living at the old farm home
where their parents had started married life in 1837, having made
their home with this son for 18 years.
They came to Perry, Pike County, Illinois in 1837, where they resided
until their death. Father and Mother Zimmerman were devout Christian
people, respected and beloved by all who knew them. For a time they
were members of the Perry Presbyterian church, but in 1850 they became
members of the Zion German M.E. Church and remained faithful to it
until God called them to their Heavenly Home. Both burials are at the
Hebron Cemetery approximately 5 miles north of Perry.

VI. David Philip Zimmerman 1854 – 1891
m. 1880 to Bertha Jockisch 1860 – 1940
